Introduction:


Rhode Island is state of over thirty thousand (30,000) people,
and out of those thirty thousand people 10,585 of them live in Warren, Rhode Island.

In Warren, Rhode Island there is a wonderful school by the name Kickemuit
Middle school. Here at Kickemuit, we have approximately one thousand (1,000)
students who attend our school. Also, at Kickemuit Middle School,
we try to maintain a safe environment. We embrace our
community of students to strive for excellence.





Background:

With the two towns adjacent from one another,
Bristol and Warren both are combined to make up an accumulative
of one thousand (1,000) students that attend
Kickemuit Middle School.
In 1993 to better serve the two relatively small towns,
Bristol and Warren both came up with the idea to intertwine the two schools.

Kickemuit middle school is located near Bristol. Bristol is a small historical town with architectural homes. It also has a new renovated waterfront, making it an inviting place to live, work and even visit for a couple days.Warren is also part of the Kickemuit middle school community, being that their adjacent from one another. Warren is a small town, but is also rich in history.Warren was the industrial center for trading, whaling, and shipbuilding during the colonial era.

Together, both Bristol and Warren make up a very small
amount of diversity. With both towns
being predominantly Caucasian (White), there are very few
Blacks, Asians, and Latinos. Although, the Latinas
are starting to gain more and more of the population rate, which is at 4.00%.
The Caucasians are at a compasity that makes up 90%
of the population. Between blacks, Native Americans,

and Asians, Blacks are 2.00% which is considered the highest
of the three, leaving a total of 1.00% between both Native Americans and Asians.

When comparing to the overall population of Rhode Island,
Warren and Bristol has thirty two percent (32%) of children
in single-parent families, compared to the state, which has a
total of thirty one percent 31%. By this statistics, you can see that
Warren and Bristol has a higher percentage. By viewing the Census-based indicator,
Warren and Bristol have percentages that are either equal
to or half the size of the average. Simply because,
many kids live with either one parent or both parents.

The education in the Kickemuit community is considered to
be very high, in fact the Kickemuit Community percentile in the
NECAP Assessments is above average from 3rd all the way through 11th.
Scoring high averages in the reading, writing and math making us not only
one of the wealthiest educational school, but one of the smartest
schools around Rhode Island.

In the Kickemuit community it has a wonderful attendance record.
Here at Kickemuit Middle School, we pride our selves on having a safe/bully free zone.
The reason being is simply because, without a safe environment kids will not want to attend school.
So being that we have a wonderful environment it provides kids with the ability

The Kickemuit community is a very wealthy income community in Rhode Island.
The Kickemuit Middle School is a product of the Rhode Island environment
and is absolutely an institution that will lead its students to a future of success.
I feel as though It is important to understand the comminuty and comprehend the Middle School.
